Bacon Wrapped Dates
Man, that was a punny. But seriously, I unveiled this at one of our annual Christmas gift exchanges on an EPIC charcuterie board, and these were devoured first. My favorite part, 3 INGREDIENTS. Yes, I am yelling. Three ingredients and people thought I was a chef flown in from somewhere fancy, like Paris, Paris level fancy for three ingredients. Now I am sure you are reading this and thinking… sure. Sure these are the most amazing things, don’t believe me? Here you go, test these bad boys yourself.
Ingredients:
20 pitted medjool dates ( I buy mine at Costco for that bulk price yo)
10 slices of bacon (cut in half)
Balsamic ( I use Nappa Valley Grand Reserve)- its sort of spendy for balsamic but once you try it, you will understand.
OPTIONAL: Toothpicks
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 F
2. Prep cookie sheet with parchment paper
3. Place date at the top of bacon strip. Roll date in bacon until strip is gone
4. I use the toothpick to pierce through date and bacon. But you do you
5. Place in oven for 20-25 minutes, depending on how your oven cooks
6. They are done when the bacon is browned and looks crispy.
7. Remove and let slightly cool. Drizzle with balsamic
NOTE: because I had these on a charcuterie board, I used a high-quality bleu cheese dressing as a “dip” of sorts for these guys, but seriously, most people didn’t use it. It slowed them down 😊
